Council Announces Winners of the Iowa and New Hampshire Pick 12 Contest
January 11, 2008
The results are in! Council for a Livable World is pleased to announce the three winners of its Iowa and New Hampshire Pick 12 Contest.
Congratulations to first place finisher Lee Daneker of Seattle, second place finisher Pamela Dehmer of Bel Air (MD), and third place finisher Tara McGinnis of Washington (DC). Lee won $200, Pamela won $100, and Tara won $50.
Again, congratulations to these political masterminds and thank you to all of our participants!
Contestants were challenged to predict the top three winners of the Iowa and New Hampshire Democratic and Republican primaries. Out of 1,714 entries, only our top three finishers correctly selected 11 out of 12 positions. These three political geniuses were then ranked according to who came closest to guessing the percentage of votes Ron Paul received in New Hampshire.
In the "Honorable Mention" category, only seven people correctly selected 10 out of 12 positions. Congratulations also goes out to:
Timothy Barnes of Vienna, VA
Hannah Banks of Boston, MA
Gerry Warburg of Arlington, VA
Ruth Miner of Crestview Hills, KY
Susan Roth of Rockville, MD
Cecelia Luschnig of Moscow, ID
Jay Hansen of Salt Lake City, UT
Here is some more information about our top three finishers.
